Please recommend something akin to #OpenSuse #Snapper, where #apt-Upgrades are automatically snapshotted, so I can revert an upgrade, or other dangerous system changes for #Debian or #Ubuntu based systems. I only found apt-btrfs-snapshot, but is there something that's available from the get-go?

By following this guide, you will have what is, in my opinion, the optimal setup to daily drive a rolling release distribution, such as Arch Linux.

If you have any kind of problem after updating your system, you'll be able to boot into a previous snapshot and rollback to it, as if nothing had happened.

It's basically like time travel for your computer, but better. Because you'll be able to choose what gets rolled back and what doesn't, so that you don't lose any of your recent work.

Das von Suse entwickelte #snapper Tool hat bei deren Tests leider nicht funktioniert.

New Year, New Project:

I started working on a script that can restore previous versions of files based on #Snapper #BTRFS snapshots.

Currently, it uses Dmenu, but I would love to integrate this type of functionality into a graphical file manager such as #Nemo (from the @linuxmint project).

At this point, I have no idea how to do it.

Dear #BTRFS #Snapper users, I have a question.

I set up a system to snapshot my root directory into a `snapshots` subvolume mounted at `/.snapshots` . I use #systemd homed for my home directories as separate subvolumes, which, at this point, I don't exactly understand how it works (the home directories are supposedly btrfs subvolumes).

Could I use snapper to snapshot my home directory into the same `snapshots` subvolume?

I *love* Btrfs snapshots, Snapper and the Grub config on openSUSE.

Did a one-time boot from a read-only snapshot from before the fonts-config update and, guess what? The Firefox font rendering is fine!

Whatever changed between 20200609+git0.42e2b1b and fonts-config-20231210+git0.f7216ba definitely made font rendering a LOT worse in multiple places!

How many other distros have "boot from r/o snapshot" in the Grub menu for recovery?
