Lol. Someone just tried to tell me that offering people a #writingprompt is "demanding free labor from writers".
As though any writer who sees a writing prompt is forcibly compelled to write for it against their will. As though writing isn't an act of joy. As though I'm not just sharing the very same idea I'm planning to write, because the more the merrier 🤣 A thing I do with most of the things I write, because I hate copyright. Lol. I literally make my short stories public domain specifically so other people can write for them as well and get paid for their work.
Anyways, here' the prompt, aimed in particular at the Danny Phantom fandom, because I know they'd love it, but also in general as an original writing prompt as well, just insert names of your choice and do whatever you want.
"Write a short story about a powerless and injured Danny trying to drag Tucker' and Sam's unconcious bodies through the mall, while the mall is trapped in a bubble world where no one else can get in to help.
Danny, alone, without any access to his powers, with only his normal level of strength, with no access to anything like a skateboard or anything else with wheels, just his own physical power, must painstakingly drag Tucker and Sam's dead weights from the back of the top floor of the mall, down the not-functioning escalators, and all the way to the front doors and around every obstacle, before anyone else can help, because no one else can get in, and no one else even know they're in there in need of rescue.
And while this nightmare is ongoing, there is an evil ghost speaking into Danny's head, trying to convince him to just give up and give his mind and body over to it in a permanent overshadowing. And, at the same time, the suddenly sentient personification of Phantom is also in Danny's head, trying to give him the courage to keep going, even though he's also hurt, and it's been hours, and he hasn't eaten or had anything to drink in over a day, and all the flying and fighting he does in his ghost form does not magically transfer over to his living body, so he's just as scrawny and physically unfit as he was the day he got electrocuted.
There is no one coming to help him. He has no powers. It is up to him, and his own physical strength, to physically drag Tucker and Sam through this empty mall and to safety. And time is running out. The air is slowly but surely leaking out of this bubble and if he isn't fast enough, they will all suffocate, and no one will even know where or why they disappeared, never to return home.
It's a specific prompt as an experiment, to prove a point about a certain traditionally published author who just.... Sucks at writing so much.
To indescribably levels. Literally, because she doesn't describe a single thing, and expects the audience to do all the work ourselves. (And no, she's not some brand new author, she's been writing as adult since before I was alive, and her writing never improves because she refuses to accept any constructive criticism from anyone, and would rather make up literal caricatures of people who point out the racism and slavery apologism in her writing than just admit she's using racist tropes)
I'll give you all the details on......Let's say August 10th. I'll edit this post on August 10th, 2025 with what scene exactly this is about, since that should give people time to write for the prompt if they choose.
I'm making this prompt for the #phandom in particular, specifically because I know this fandom rocks, and is fully capable of blowing this out of the water and putting all the bad writers who refuse to follow rule #1 (Show, don't tell) in the world to shame.
Even if you're not in the #DannyPhantom fandom, but feel inspired, feel free to just use this for an original short story, it's public domain. You can even (and should) sell it when you're done."

This take is a decade or two late, but:
Danny Fenton is a trans man, and you cannot convince me otherwise. The only viable clone of him was female. He walks into the wrong bathroom like once per episode. And that one mean girl was like "You belong in the men's room---if you qualify"
I don't care that the creator said no. He is trans. The ghost stuff causing problems with his relationship with his parents is a super good metaphor for it.
