Ariana Grande lamenta ausência na pré-estreia de “Wicked: Parte 2” em São Paulo; Cynthia Erivo e Jonathan Bailey encantam fãs brasileiros

A pré-estreia de “Wicked: Parte 2” (For Good) agitou São Paulo na noite desta terça-feira (4), reunindo fãs, celebridades brasileiras e parte do elenco principal da superprodução musical da Universal Pictures. Estiveram presentes Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba), Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero) e o diretor Jon M. Chu, que foram recebidos com entusiasmo e muita cantoria do público.

A grande ausência da noite foi a de Ariana Grande, intérprete de Glinda, que enviou um vídeo ao público pedindo desculpas por não conseguir comparecer, após uma série de imprevistos logísticos.

“Minha equipe e eu tentamos tudo que era humanamente possível para resolver isso e me fazer chegar até vocês. Meu voo original foi atrasado 16 horas e depois tivemos que sair do avião. Quando começamos a ver outros voos, tentei até entrar no voo do Johnny (Bailey), mas não havia assentos disponíveis”, explicou a cantora.

Grande contou ainda que tentou fretar um jato particular, mas esbarrou em exigências burocráticas: “O Brasil pede uma licença emitida com dois dias de antecedência para autorizar esse tipo de voo”.

A artista lamentou profundamente não ter conseguido comparecer e garantiu que tentará compensar os fãs brasileiros: “É importante para mim contar o quanto nós realmente tentamos e o quanto os fãs brasileiros são importantes para mim e para toda a família Wicked. Estou arrasada, mas vou compensar vocês.”

Apesar da ausência, o público fez questão de celebrar os artistas presentes. Jonathan Bailey, eleito recentemente o “homem mais sexy do mundo” pela revista People, arrancou gritos e aplausos com seu carisma. Já Cynthia Erivo conquistou o público ao arriscar palavras em português: “Amo vocês, vocês são lindos”, declarou a estrela sob aplausos entusiasmados.

Facts about this routine:
-When @aemberannaerial and I planned this show, I knew INSTANTLY I wanted to perform to this song. To me, this song is about trying to do good - even when you know you can’t, even when you know it’s futile, even when you know your efforts won’t be recognized, even when you know those in power will just corrupt and abuse the system - but trying to do good anyway. This is a pivotal moment in the play where Elphaba decides to wear her Scarlet Letter proudly, and I feel that. So hard.
-I was going to be on spin and then transition to static....BUT I couldn’t figure out the switching mechanism and time was running out for my cues so I just rolled with it on spin!
-I was going to try to “go green”...that didn’t happen either - for various reasons lol.
-My husband made my spellbook it looked super cool! Had ancient runes, spooky pics, and everything!
-I read the book the play was based off of in order to prep for the show and I hated it lmao
-After hosting a show for the second time, I learned I really really love producing and hosting. <3
