Anybody here watch Dead Mail? Wasn't expecting to get pulled into a movie during one of my s/o's horror movie marathons (wouldn't exactly call this a horror movie, but that's what she thought she was getting into lol) due to vintage synthesizer content, but that's what happened, and it ended up being really good.
If you're into synthesizers, while that's more of the set & setting than what the movie's about, I can say that you may very well appreciate the score. The use of wonky, off-kilter synthesizer during moments of tension or foreboding is great on its own, but even moreso combined with the subject matter. There's also some classical music, which I can't pretend to be super knowledgable about, but for the most part it's pretty standard stuff most people have definitely heard at some point.
It's a worthwhile watch that doesn't cheapen itself by leaning too heavily on tropes. Everyone involved (me, my s/o, and our mutual bff) left equally impressed.
Oh and there's also a little something something for the postal service nerds (like the USPS, not the music duo); it really is a wild story, tbh.
