Germany lost its democracy once, drew its conclusions & codified its constitution to be able to defend against any organization trying to infringe or even remove most basic human rights & essential foundations of post-WWII German democracy.
So even if there'd be an extremist, anti-democratic majority in parliament it wouldn't be able to abridge or even remove the most important articles of the constitution protecting elementary human rights or the constitution itself.
