This Sea-to-Summit packsack to their Ultralight sleeping pad sports some remarkable design fail. On one end, you have access to the rolled up, orange pad, on the other end, it contains a grey pumpsack for super easy inflation. But now, take a guess which end contains what! Exactly, at the grey end you’ll find the pad and at the orange end you’ll find the pumpsack. Now if there just was a way to make it more intuitive!

😵 Dark mode just cost me two straight days of work at least. How? Just look at the picture below and witness things appearing out of nothing.

Background info: I like #Futo #LouisRossmann and the #ConsumerRightsWiki and planned to do a drive-by-contribution so that they get a proper logo.

And, yes, I DID search thoroughly for an existing logo. Now that I'm almost finished I turned on dark mode by accident and was baffled. Looks like all my work was for nothing.

I surmise what happened: it was just past midnight, when that route closes. They had entered that lobby just before the doors locked. But as the clock ticked past 12 it shut the lifts down. And the door. Due to this being specified wrong, the door locked both ways and they could not get out.

There was a button to connect to customer assistance, but it was on the other side of the glass doors. And, as mentioned, the phone number from a notice board didn’t work.

Mechanische Teile kosten mehr als elektronische, vor allem, weil sie eher kaputt gehen können.

Mich killt das immer, wenn ich amerikanische Herde sehe, wo die Bedienelemente hinter den Kochfeld angebracht sind. Das ist auch so eine Missachtung des Benutzers. #designfail

Because I'm super fancy rich now (ie: I can afford an emergency £400 expense), I treated myself to a fancy-pants electric toofbrush. And of course, I got it in fab-you-lush purple.

We all know how big they are, right? Well, toofbrush and banana for scale on these instructions.

Apparently #consumergrade #SSDs do not actually do anything to make their volatile write-cache safe.

What kind of asshole decided this was a good idea? Fucking infrastructural privilege assumptions.

As it turns out, yes, a *lot* of consumergrade SSDs will lose flushed data on a power outage.

So that means unless one has the privilege to be able to afford a UPS or enterprise SSDs, one otherwise has to disable the cache (promptly getting rid of most of the performance).

Hardware designers, much like software designers, should be required to live in underprivileged shitholes before releasing anything intended for wide public use.

THIS LAMP has less than 0 excuses to have the #USB connector on the bottom!

Unlike the shitty #MagicMouse it doesn't take just a few mins to charge for days of runtime and unlike the #LaggyMouse by Apple it's not some unergonomically THINN piece of glass and metal that looks like some industrial designers interpretation of #squid #sushi but the #rice is being replaced by a polished Hematite

And yes, unlike the #MagicTrackpad, the Magic #Mouse is so laggy, you can literally see it without going crosseye, which is absurd cuz the Magic #Trackpad is super crisp and fast.

IMHO it should be illegal to put #ports in a position where they prevent the use of a device whilst charging!

Espechally on something like a #lamp that unlike an RC model car has no excuse for choosing between use and charge...

A rechargeable battery powered lamp with a very thick bottom and rim but it has the charging port on the bottom and doesn't use any fancy dock, so it's wobbling around and falling over whilst charging for no valid reason.

Tried just having Suggestions enabled on my Android keyboard.

And even then, due to #DesignFail layout, I get very wrong words put into my typing.

smh - what an industry.

The Pizza Express box designer needs to go back to school. What kind of lunatic put cooking instructions in dark blue on a dark background. It's totally unreadable in anything but full sun light.
