tfw you, ADHD mom, want to show ADHD kid the photo of the guinea pig in a "Your prescription" packet (see prev repost) but you know you'll utterly derail kid from homework, so you turn to show your spouse but he's sitting there trying to concentrate on a score study and there's no point in showing the cats the guinea pig bc they won't care about a photo so you sit there boiling with suppressed #ADHD excitement energy that has nowhere to go
@mjt I've long felt that the name "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder" is a label invented by a person who thought people like me were annoying and just not good enough.
So I own it by calling myself a Filthy Chaos Gremlin.

Most of the time, in order to remember to look at the list I've made, I have to put it somewhere it will be a physical obstacle to future me *enough to make future me irritated*.
It now occurs to me that this might somehow be the explanation for the mystery of why I found a pair of my sweatpants in the freezer.
Anyway, yeah, #ADHD is exhausting.

If your individual post is so long that I have to scroll up more than 2x on my phone, that's gonna be a tl;dr from me. My attention span for reading longer pieces on my phone is sketchy at best (hi #DAVE)--and when I'm on here, my brain is looking for the microblogging flavor of dopamine hit. Make me work for it, and my brain skips merrily away.
So what I'm saying is, break up posts & thread 'em. 😘
I think most DIY crafts sites don't understand that when I am looking for "simple, easy DIY" anything, I mean something I can do with materials I already have at home in less than 30 minutes. 😆

@samir @mathiasverraes When my #ADHD kid is doing math homework especially, I (also with ADHD!) tell her all the time: "Stand up. Let's get moving so we can think." As the body moves, so the brain moves.
And that's not confined to ADHDers who *can't* sit still!
@oatmeal This was me with my #DAVE #ADHD having gone undiagnosed until last year, when I was 46. It has all vastly improved since I got on meds.
Still, when those wear off around 8:30pm every evening, I crash hard -- and am back up, ready to do ALL THE THINGS, 15 minutes later. 🙄

I do genuinely appreciate the confirmation requests and reminder messages from various businesses and medical offices concerning upcoming appointments. These messages provide me with a helpful service and save the other parties money. I get that.
But I really don't need 3 confirmation requests and 7 reminders. I have #ADHD and I don't even need that many!
