Considering switching to #Linux (#Mint / #Ubuntu) and running #Reaper + #Toontrack #EZDrummer #EZMix stack in a Windows VM, but worried that'll introduce too much latency; especially with recording guitar. Anyone have experience with such a setup? #DAW

Well I have braved putting a cover of Emeli Sandé's 'Read All About It' on YouTube including a vocal final chorus.

In reality a familiarisation of #Toontracks #EZMIX plugin in #CockosReaper DAW. I'm experimenting in preparation for trying to record my original songs at some point. So much to learn!

However also familiarising with my digital interfaces and mics too, with a view to getting some vocals onto my recordings in 2023.

Currently doing test recordings into #CockosReaper with:

1. #Presonus #Studio24C & #RedAudio Condenser mic

2. #Behringer #UMC22 & #Gear4Music SZM-11 dynamic mic.

Really not sure how best to treat a bass / baritone vocal. Like others, I hate the sound of my own voice! I'm exploring #Toontracks #EZMix Vocals Toolbox. Suggestions?
