I’m in a public library today. (I’m a reserve #electionofficer so I get random assignments each time. I never work the same precinct twice, it seems).
What makes this location unusual is that it is an #earlyvoting location before #electionday. If you vote early, you come in, tell them your name and address, and they figure out what district you’re in. Then they print the right ballot for you right there. Anyone from any precinct in Fairfax County can vote at any early voting site. This means that for the last 3 weeks or so, people have been coming to this #library and #voting early.
But if you #vote ON election day, you may only vote in the precinct where you are assigned. (Where you live) So we will get voters today who come in and say “But my wife/son/neighbour voted here just last Thursday!” And that’s absolutely true. And today we have to look them up and say “we are sorry, but you must vote at XYZ.”
So we turn away a LOT of voters here on election day because they expect to vote here when they don’t live here. I’m told by the regulars that it can be as high as 30% of people who walk up.

I voted on October 25th, the first day of early voting in New York.
Yesterday I received five post cards and flyers from various political campaigns. Pleased to note that these were not from the candidates I voted for, but from the out-of-touch campaigns that don't realize the election is more than half over.
Where I was today is also an #EarlyVoting location, so this is your reminder, #NYC, get out there and VOTE!! It really counts 🙌💯✨
Stars are aligning and I’ve got time after work to head to the #polls for #earlyvoting on my way home. A couple offices are running unopposed. For those I’m planning on writing in a name, just so there’s a record that not everyone is voting for the sole candidate. Other office have candidates endorsed by both major and a few minor party lines. In those cases I like to vote on a minor line, to show support
When you early vote in Georgia, make sure that you complete all of your voting. There was a special election for my district that wasn't on the early voting ballot. If there wasn't a volunteer at my polling place reminding everyone, I would have missed voting in that special election.

I have a fear that Islamaphobia and name recognition is propelling older voters to vote for Andrew Cuomo. I hope this is not the case.

It's not too late to register to vote either. Registration ends on the 24th. Go online and make a search.
For those in other States figure out what's needed and get active. Voting is the least you can do.
To do more, talk with friends and coworkers about what troubles you. Discuss issues. Make it personal. Being silent only leads to disinformation.

Working for early voting today in my little town. VERY low key, but leadership positions like Selectmen and library board.
As usual, the Republicans will probably prevail and it's so little there's no "meet the candidates" for anyone to challenge them on their allegiance to a party that has been complicit in this disaster nationally.
I'm struggling to NOT wear my Resist apparel.
