Most email applications refer marking messages for future action as "flagging," because my use of that feature goes up dramatically as my interest in doing anything with my email flags.

Custom Outlook mail rules to the rescue when people decide to play the "reply all" game. Filter by the subject line and send directly to the deleted items folder.

Tip: Replying all to say "Remove me" is not helpful. Outlook will actually warn you that you're about to send an email to over 4000 people.

It’s depressing when you spend three hours trying to get caught up on work emails and you have more unread in your inbox then you started with. There has to be a better way. For reference I started with 108 this morning now I have 111. I should mention that’s after my automatic filter rules have moved the information emails I get daily from different processes in the company. #EmailOverload #email

For a *brief* moment at work today, I had zero unread emails. A colleague came to my desk to go over something with me and questioned whether I truly had zero unread emails and she was incredibly impressed. I told her it won’t last long. And I was right. Sigh. 📧
