I wonder if the following rules could put an end to or at least meaningful constrain #gerrymandering
- create districts with even number of voters (existing rule)
- no district can sit inside another district
- pick a layout that minimises the total length of the district borders circumference/girth
- when multiple divisions match the circumference rule [insert something clever like pick the one with the smallest median difference in surface area]

Fact: No. They can be removed under laws that apply to other state commissions.

Passing laws to make sure voters can’t pass laws unless they’re Republican laws. Sounds like Ohio where judges repeatedly rule that GOP must draw maps fairly and they simply ignore them and say it’s too late because an election is coming. Now a Citizen initiative to fix gerrymandering has GOP written subterfuge on the ballot to confuse voters.
