From a customer's perspective, #EuropeanSleeper's new Paris-Berlin route sounds smarter than the original Nightjet as it will join 4 major cities instead of 2 (you could count Strasbourg as well, but at midnight it was less ideal).

This probably more than balances the synergies* of Paris/Bruxelles x Berlin/Vienna that Nightjet had.

Looking forward to how it pans out!

*Which were a double-edge sword for reliability, as one delayed train delayed all of them.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like #EuropeanSleeper are about to go public with info that @maartje revealed a month or so back.

Their new Berlin–Paris route will call at a "destination in northern Germany" which can surely only be Hamburg (not necessarily Hbf).
If confirmed, that transforms train connections between Scandinavia and the whole of NW Europe (jnc Britain).
Potentially Stockholm to Paris in 21 hours, or to London in about 24.

European Sleeper will be opening an Amsterdam to Milan corridor in 2026, which may just the motivation I need to finally go visit Italy. In an ideal world, I'd mix it with Slovenia and Croatia, but I'd have to figure out if I circle back to take the sleeper home, or fly from Zagreb.

I still haven't done my big March trip and I'm already planning another trip.

I've finally booked my tickets for #FOSDEM, after some delays due to decision paralysis.

Once again it will be bus Helsinki-Warsaw and #NightTrain Berlin-Bruxelles (#EuropeanSleeper), because I don't feel like spending 300 € on Swedish trains this time. For some reason, Berlin-Warsaw doesn't run the whole way on February 5th, so I'll need to catch it in Frankfurt (Oder).

Choose Eurostar from either Paris or Bxl, depending on pricing. Then connect from Hamburg by #EuropeanSleeper.
