From Group: Images of ALIEN(1979 Movie)

An early idea was to have the alien semi-transparent, but due to time constraints and technological limitations, this eerie aspect of the creature's anatomy was abandoned in favor of the darker-skinned being seen in the finished film. This image of a semi-transparent prototype suit is from Shepperton Design Studios. As beloved as the original alien from the 1979 film is, the semi-transparent look - reminiscent of some species of fish and amphibians - is quite an interesting idea. Certainly there would be a lot to be disturbed by and to speculate upon if its internal organs were on full display to the viewer, for biology often inspires the most unsettling terrors.

From Group: Dull Men's Club

My older brother recently obtained this TV and the “attached” DVD player. Grabbing a random DVD -which happened to be Rocky Horror - we tested it out.

I had no idea/recollection of the menu featuring a giant mouth but it tickled us when coupled with the Mickey Ears as it created a face.

Anyway, this is an absolutely dull discovery but amusing all the same.

From Group: Tasty Recipes

Original Post is here.

Here's the recipe:

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb cooked beef brisket, pulled apart
  2. 2 jalapeños, chopped (seeds removed for milder flavor)
  3. 1 onion, chopped
  4. 2 garlic cloves, minced
  5. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  6. ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  7. ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  8. 1½ cups beef broth
  9. ½ cup heavy cream
  10. 2 tsp dried thyme
  11. ½ tsp salt
  12. ¼ tsp black pepper
  13. 2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought)

Directions
Preheat the Oven

  1. Set the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Vegetables

  1. In a large pan over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened (about 3 minutes).
  2. Add the chopped jalapeños and cook for another 2 minutes.

Make the Roux

  1. Stir in the all-purpose flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring continuously.
  2. Gradually add the beef broth and heavy cream, stirring to prevent lumps.
  3. Let the mixture simmer until it thickens.

Prepare the Filling

  1. Add the pulled brisket, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Stir well and let the mixture heat through.

Assemble the Pot Pie

  1. Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Fill with the brisket mixture, spreading it evenly.
  3. Cover with the second pie crust, sealing the edges by crimping with a fork or pinching with your fingers.
  4. Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

Bake the Pot Pie

  1. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

Serve

  1. Let the pot pie cool slightly before slicing.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy this hearty and comforting meal!

Just remember... Some Assembly Required was an option for home ownership...

God forbid you had extra parts.

From Historical Photographs on Facebook:

In the 1910s, Sears offered mail order houses. You would select the house of your choice, then Sears would ship it to you by railroad. The parts were then assembled by the individual, based on the instructions

So, this guy blocked me so it won't go to him. This is for anyone who sees this later.

This guy was basically being a dick. He could have just blocked the account or went about his business. But he choose to try and shame me for sharing something I found on Facebook.

When I find interesting things like this on Facebook I basically copy and paste the information here, with a link for anyone who wants to go see the original post. This is because this isn't my original content and when I share it I believe it's important to link back to the creator.

I mark these with the tags #Facebook, #FacebookFinds, and #FacebookGroup.

Any one of those tags can be muted. Like the guy about could have.

He chose to be hateful though.

So while this is all going out into the Void, and won't be seen by the dick in question, if you do see this then take a moment to ask.

If you don't want to see these things you don't have to. They are tagged in a way so you can block them.

But you also have a choice about being a dick about it.

@galacticstone@mastodon.social being a dick.

This is a real, intact human nervous system.

In 1925, two medical students in Kirksville, Missouri were challenged to dissect a cadaver's nervous system, starting from the brain downward, but leaving the entire system in one piece. The process took the students - M.A. Schalck and L.P. Ramsdell - over 1,500 hours. Their "blood, sweat, and tears" produced this extraordinary display, located at the Museum of Osteopathic Medicine at A.T. Still University (ATSU) in Kirksville.

There are only 4 of these in the world.
