Today's Fading Suns session was close quarters talking for the whole session. Our heroes had jumped into the Holy Terra system, and had to endure a very bureaucratic customs inspection, and then a visit from an Escatonic Artifact Inspector.
For this session I just decided to throw in the characters with some problems into a mess of people making them question every decision and when to lie and when to dress the truth up nicely.
Prep situations, not solutions. Right?
I saw a price sticker on the back of my copy of the Byzantium Secundus sourcebook for Fading Suns, and realized I bought it at The Hairy Tarantula in Toronto.
That book has travelled the world, as it has come with me here across the ocean. There's something poetic lurking in this story, about crossing the sea of night or the dark between the stars.
At least it crossed the Atlantic at night.
The last game session we had was in November. I almost remembered what we had done, and what all the NPCs had planned.
After a short time, it turned out that in my head, the PCs where on another continent, but that was easily remedied.
Now, they are hunted, and things are getting interesting with Avestites patrolling the streets. Good times.
Now the question is, will there be a new revelation happening, or just another heretic burned at the end of it?
This weeks #fleamarket finds - it wasn't a great week for the flea market - but I did find Clue The Movie on DVD, nothing special about it, just a fun movie.
And I found Fading Suns 1996 Sci-Fi RPG don't know much about this game, I know there was a D20 version and this version, and I know the price of $8 dollars is a really good deal. So I bought it!

@HeyeBodo @EmpeRohr Dazu kommt noch, dass seit gut 200 Jahren die Sonnen langsam zu verlöschen scheinen, die ein Sternentor beherbergen. Warum, weiß im Imperium niemand.
Alles in allen kamen die SC in einer ziemlich explosiven, politischen Lage an und haben versucht, so gut es geht unter dem Radar zu bleiben. (2/2)

@HeyeBodo Dazu kamen noch eine externe Bedrohung, die auf das Imperium einwirkte: Der Dauerkrieg gegen die Symbiots (geklaut von #FadingSuns wie so vieles, was das Imperium angeht: https://fadingsuns.fandom.com/wiki/Symbiots).
Im weiteren Verlauf der Kampagne kamen die SC dahinter, dass ein unbekannter Einfluss mit weitreichenden Mitteln ebenfalls kräftig im Imperium mitmischte und manchen Konflikt anheizte. (2/2)
@HeyeBodo Diese hatte ich mir, zusammen mit dem passenden Abenteuer, aus dem #FadingSuns Setting geborgt und auf die SC losgelassen. Allerdings mussten die SC nicht gegen den Void Kraken kämpfen, sondern nur herausfinden, das seine psionische Austrahlung zu erschreckenden Phänomenen in der nahen Gefangenenkolonie führte. (2/2)

... as well as various plotlines revolving around the PCs' individual interests.
@AndreasDavour We started the game with them all at a wedding. Someone was assassinated and two years later (real-time) they were still together fighting Kurgans while protecting an Anunnaki ruin.
Troupe style is very doable, but you still need to figure out the common cause that galvanizes their actions and then determine the genres you're playing. Spy? Explore? Intrigue? Travelogue? War? Diplomacy?
#fadingsuns' scope is broad enough that a game doesn't need each faction.
