Ordered myself a #Fender electric guitar which will arrive tomorrow, as well as an amp and the bare requirements of using an electric guitar. I have not touch a guitar in a few years, and I never really learnt how to use one, just picked up a few songs along the way since I got my first one in my teens.
Hoping I am heading into a new healthy hobby at 45 y.o.

@vwbusguy Is option #1 supposed to be coil splitting humbuckers? AFAIK, you only tap a single coil.

I did just that - installed splittable humbuckers into my Telecaster, so I can run them akin to single coils when I want, but 99% of the time, I'm chugging with all coils firing....

Short noodle jam session with Hope the Player 2 Fender Jaguar. A couple chords on the higher and lower end of the register, switching the pick up options, turning the tone knob to a few positions so you all can hear some colors. Plenty more to explore. I went around the guy's shop, he was there and got the amp, plugged it in and let me try it. "Vibrato" wasn't working for me, but the reverb was sweet and drippy.
Then he said he didn't want to sell it. He'd even taken down the ad.
(I so want this to not be about me, and my crap playing and self-deprecating demeanor.)
He said he'll think about it and let me know if he will sell it.
