@mahryekuh yes, missed last years so I was early this time. Right after #fossdem Plan the next one directly after one had finished.

@backintime I'll be at #JDLL 2025 and hope to be at #FOSSDEM 2026.
What about discord ? Would that work for you ? :)
An informative post about new stuff for #LibreOffice shown at #FOSSDEM: using #CRDT for document collaboration, and use it in a browser with #WASM (#ZetaOffice)

Ο #osaid (σ.σ.
Haven't really had a chance to watch any of the relevant #fossdem talks, have there been any major updates? Does the project have a public timeline anywhere?
Last commit seems to be from three months ago.
Looks like #alpinelinux is desperately in need for migrating their servers to some other hoster. They are looking for sponsors, who are willing to support this project. Please share, such that they will find a new digital home. Requirements are transparently listed in the blog post.

One of the things I like about #FOSSDEM is their transparency. It is a very nice feeling to know what's happening and when to expect what. For instance I missed some talks during weekend (either time-conflict with another talk or I was driving), and now I can see when their video processing is done so that I can watch them:

#AskFedi Is there anything that caught your attention in FOSSDEM that I should also watch?
Thanks to all organizers and presenters 🍻
Jag misstänker att mastodon börjar bli viktigt på riktigt. Inte bara här utan även globalt. Vad säger ni som var på #FOSSDEM ?
"FSF's criteria for free machine learning applications" were really committed in user freedom rather than urgency. Zoë Kooyman and Krzysztof Siewicz really delivered clarity and calmness. I argue all people who are interested, to check and contribute to @fsf actions in ML.
Last talk before I left and took my way to the airport was "Free software teaching materials" by Miriam Bastian which sparked great ideas on how to make free software accessible to schools and our communities. #FOSSDEM off 2/2
#OSAID practically died today in #fossdem . During the talk "When is an AI system free/open?" it was severely criticized, even by people working at Amazon, IBM and the USA government. But OSAID wasn't a slip-up but rather a systemic outcome. #opensource demotes freedom over being "corporate friendly". This lead in the unmemorable presentation "How Does Heinz Have 80% of a Commodity Market?" which claimed that copyleft restricted freedom and that software trademarks are being misunderstood!!!
My entire timeline is just my favourite projects posting about their #fossdem panels
I'll go one day :BlobhajReach:
And if you want to know the schedule and you are not familiar with #FOSSDEM website structure or you want quick answer, this is the schedule of this room:
https://fosdem.org/2025/schedule/track/analytics/
And this shows room tracks. Parallel talks happen in different rooms, so it's worth checking them out. There is a 5 minute gap between each talk, which gives you enough time to hop to another room if you want to:
حقیقتاً دلم میخواست الان اونجا بودم و داشتم حضوری #FOSSDEM رو میدیدم.
I'm watching the Data Analytics room in #FOSSDEM . I'm curious to read other people's opinion about the talks. You can watch live here:
Loved the LDBC talk in #FOSSDEM about the history and future of graph databases. I worked before with Neo4j back in 2019 and felt it is here to stay. It's interesting to see what the journey was and what the field look like at the moment.
The talk was done by Gábor Szárnyas and the info can be found here:
Starting in a few mins: "Build a Great Business on #OpenSource without Selling Your Soul" with Robert Hodges - and lots of other great talks coming up. Happy #FOSSDEM weekend! https://fosdem.org/2025/schedule/track/community/
