as the water in the gingerbread man cutter froze it pulled away from the edges of the cutter

here it looks like the gingerbread man frozen wafer is sitting up and waving

morning temp of 5˚F, so I was resumed my quest to film frozen bubbles. No luck today—I left the solution in a very cold room, and it’s quite thick today so the bubbles kept falling to the ground. .

I switched to cookie cutters, since I saw a video of that yesterday. Voila!

Those drops on my hand? wayy too cold, so I had to change my setup.

After freezing, the heart moved slightly—

If you zoom in you can see crystals in the ice, but those drops on my thumb are also ice cold.

the center of the cookie cutter is solidly frozen now (the exterior heart was not wet to begin with)

the frozen heart is very, very thin, but it slid sideways inside the mold, giving a 3D appearance. Obviously if I touch it, the warmth of my skin will melt it.

Have you ever watched ice #crystals grow in real time? Try blowing bubbles outside using this simple recipe:

1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons dish soap
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons sugar

Mix the ingredients well, then, using a straw, gently blow bubbles onto a stable outdoor surface. Ensure there's little or no wind, as the bubbles are very delicate – aim for temperatures below -10°C (15°F). It may take a few tries, but the result is truly something to watch

Ice is beautiful. The cracks from temperature changes, pressure changes and flowing water just accentuate the natural beauty of #abrahamlake.
