Started to play Anno 1800 once again. I did want to complete the campain but I randomly lose money. There is a random expanse I cannot track down, costing 25k twice in a row leading to a bankrupt.
I'm frustrated now, wouldn't be an issue if the game would tell me where the money goes. But it isn't.
Whatever time to sleep.

When the fateful day arrived, Emily and I stayed glued to the observation windows. Passengers came to admire the New Jersey countryside below, and then left to pack.
Miss Pang took a seat in the lounge near us and ordered a Champagne cocktail. She glanced my way, but no more.
Next to me, Emily said, “I’m watching you. If we don’t crash, I want to catch you before you slip away.”
Her use of "I" confused me, but I followed her gaze to Miss Pang. I nodded. “I wouldn’t expect less of you. If we don’t crash, I’ll be happy to hand her the film and apologize.”
The landing mast came into view, a tall, spindly structure. Below was a mixture of pine forests and sandy fields. The aerodrome building loomed large, and I could see the people clearly. “Which one will I be giving the film to?” I asked.
“He’s next to the terminal. I’ll lead you to him.”
“There’s a crowd down there. Are they all needed to land this thing?” I asked, looking at the lines of men in uniforms. What I mainly noticed a field of bobbing white hats.
“First time, bud,” the man next to me said. “Don’t worry. They’ve got it down to a science. We’ll be on the ground in a jiffy.”
I nodded thanks, wondering if he would remember those words later.
The tableware in the room rattled, and the ship groaned.
I felt sick to my stomach. Things were going to get very bad soon. Some people around me might die. I hoped the steward survived. He’d treated me well. It #frustrated me that there was nothing I could do to help these people.
A stray thought popped into my head: “What will they think when they can’t find my body? Mlle Bijou was on the #manifest, or will my name disappear?”
I glanced at where Miss Pang had been sitting, but she’d disappeared. The cocktail was untouched—a mocking symbol of an unfinished life.
I wondered about her absence, but there wasn’t time to think about it.
“Passengers, please prepare for landing,” the captain announced over the intercom, repeating the message in German.
I took Emily’s hand. “Ready.” My voice sounded unsteady. She nodded, and I focused on dematerializing. A process that always seemed to take forever, though in truth it was only thirty seconds. The man next to us gaped as he stared at me. The next few minutes would scar him for life. My disappearing act was only the beginning.
I tugged on Emily’s hand and stepped through the wall. It was like walking into a gale. The wall was thin, and I was outside the ship in an instant. The ground looked very far away.
My head spun, and my stomach lurched. What if I fell? I had no idea what would happen if I ran out of energy and materialized again. Emily had carefully pointed out that I only thought I couldn’t die. Even if I were right, I suspected a fall from this height would hurt.
“My God, I’m going to fall!”

I’m genuinely frustrated with how often petty behavior overshadows basic communication. I understand that we all have different personalities, perspectives, and ways of handling conflict. Disagreements are bound to happen. But too often, instead of addressing issues directly, people retreat, avoid, or cut others off entirely without saying anything.
It’s a pattern I’ve noticed in tech circles too. People get attached to certain tools, platforms, or companies. The moment someone offers a different perspective, things suddenly feel personal. Instead of seeing it as a chance to learn or collaborate, it becomes a dividing line. We should be able to disagree, whether it’s about tech choices or personal matters, without it turning into something toxic.
We should be able to talk through our differences like adults. Choosing silence or indirect behavior over honest conversation is not only unproductive, it also shows a lack of respect for the relationship that existed. If there was trust or any kind of history, a simple explanation should not be too much to ask.
At the very least, we owe each other that level of clarity. It’s discouraging to see how normalized avoidance and shutting people out have become. When did communication stop being the default?
My doctor's appointment phone number has added more layers to the voicemail and made it so I have to talk instead of pushing numbers. It can't understand me. It took three phone calls to get a person, and the connection was so bad I couldn't get my appointment scheduled. Why can't a person just answer the damned telephone?
Booking a contractor service in rural Germany is like: Abandoned or domain-grabbed website from the 90s, dozens of AI-generated imposter website using the phonebook-data to turn up in search, then re-rout to questionable national services, only a mobile phonenumber as a real contact.

It’s 2025 and it still feels that setting up even the most basic of smart home accessories can be needlessly complicated.
Having to disable your 5Ghz Wifi network before you can pair an accessory can make the very first step challenging.
I’ve just bought some Meross, matter compatible, smart plugs. After making sure I was only running a 2.4Ghz network, I was able to get two of the plugs to pair (to Apple HomeKit) but the third just refused.
Migrated my old standalone #Zigbee2MQTT server to the Home Assistant Add-on. Should take maximum 1 hour, but ran into unpredicted issues, so this costed me a whole day... Got multiple entities even when I used the exact backup of Z2M. Awful experience.
I've been in a deep funk, which is illustrated perfectly by my inability to open the interdimensional portal to the secret discotheque that hangs in the 6-and-a-half dimension just parallel to my living room. I've tried electro-swing, classic disco, everything, but I'm locked out. Usually, I can dance my way out of these states, but I'm trudging in circles with my head down instead. Sigh.

Two lessons: Your vote can make a difference in an #election. And First-Past-The-Post sucks. So many vote(r)s are #frustrated. We need to upgrade to #ProportionalRepresentation

Don't often share personal, but feel venting here might help me a little. I'd like to share my def. of frustration from a current experience. As a developer I worked for a company for 14 years, I got a little 'bored', looked around and was offered another job (a bit more money wafted under my nose). So I jumped ship. However, after 7-8 months, I kinda regretted the change and spoke to my old manager. They were keen to get me back, went through all the paperwork etc. Now here is the issue. This is a large owned company, who buys smaller companies. The smaller one I want to go back to all want me. But in order to get employed you have to wait for the owner to sign off the offer. He manages ever single offer and we are talking a lot of companies. This was January, in that time I was made redundant. Thought, no prob, got my old job back. We are now in May and nothing has happened. We are all waiting. Oh and the job market is really mucked up, I've only had two interviews since Feb, on only recently. #frustrated
