When I get asked what I use instead of ai
Remember this rule when you see AI art on mastodon:
IBM
I - Ignore
B - Block
M - Mute
Art is a human endevour and image generators are art thefts. I will not participate in it and will there fore block all AI bro sloppers. If you have a really good lets say photoedit program that has "AI background removal" i am not speaking about that. I am against image generation softwares that are marketed as "Ai" that pump out slop from promts.
Duckduckgo has AI hide function in its picture search. Nice!....well it does not work all the time but at least they are trying. I hope they get this feature running better in the future π
These kind of optional filtering tools will become even more relevant in the future when AI slop acelerates towards total shityfication of unfiltered internet. Like adblock today which is essential on modern day internet.
Me: *sees no credit for artwork on #Kickstarter project, sends message* "Who is the project artist?"
Them: "No specific artist, mostly Adobe Stock Images. I tried to curate so they all had a similar feel."
Me: "Makes sense. Is the video sequence also from stock? Or is it generated from the cover image?"
Them: "I took the image and asked #AI to make a video. I felt like since I already bought the image and this was only a "marketing" thing, it would be OK."
Me: *unfollows project*
Hi my fellow humans,
Can people please spam this thread of articles explaining why #ai generated content (images or text) are unethical ? I'm sick of having techbros tell me my "opinion doesn't matter" because I don't have "source".
I'm looking for texts on :
- AI is cultural theft and breaks the copyright law left and right
- the impact of AI on global warming
- the social impact of AI training
- anything new I'm not thinking of at the top of my head.
