arghh moment while tweaking my #gopher client config this morning:
why does everyone blindly use "h" as a selector for both an html file AND a url that may or may not be a html file (like a Gemini url).
The only answer I have is to only display directory and query selectors in my client because frankly most selectors are either obsolete or useless.
@gokayburuc One of the first posts in Gemini space I read was a call for the community to write more non-technical stuff on the smallweb. And that's probably very good advice (to attract more non-tech people). I published two cooking recipes so far 😅 and am working on a piece about my hometown. Maybe we should apply that "don't sleep with people who do not have books at home" thing to the smallweb. 😀

There we go, realized I broke the photo gallery on my #gopher hole when I switched from SmugMug to self-hosted Piwigo, so now that's switched from the gophermug CGI to piwigopher and it's all working again at gopher://sen.cx:70/1/cgi-bin/piwigopher

stumbling around gopher in my pyjamas this morning I saw an inline picture. Before snapping my laptop shut in wretched fear, I checked to see if the sky had darkened. It hadn't, so what is this infamous devilry? Turns out it's just a markdown file, and as I'm running Chawan in Kitty it automatically displays .md files with image content. Phew, I almost ran to church.

The #geminiprotocol seems to be more active than the #gopherProtocol , I find both interesting, but I must admit Gemini is a bit easier and more convenient for making a basic page with hyperlinks.
Someone made an interface to some LLM from Gopher, did you know?
Strange enough, both #gemini and #gopher keywords have now been taken for some IA shits so now even on the fediverse we have to deal with this :(
