Wer dreht eigentlich heute noch Western? Das Genre ist verstaubt, hauptsächlich klischeebeladen und lange nicht mehr zeitgemäß. In den letzten Jahrzehnten hat Hollywood lieber auf Superheld:innen, Action, Thriller oder Fantasy gesetzt – die Genres, die das junge Publikum und die internationalen Märkte ansprechen. Da war es, für ein Debüt, schon wieder mutig, einen Film zu machen, der ganz bewusst auf die klassischen Elemente setzt. (3Sat)
There’s a rumor running around that our friends at #LaLaLandRecords are going to release an expanded version of #HansZimmer’s #Gladiator tomorrow. Here’s the image they posted. If one wants to read into the white color of the stone, it also might be #HarryGregsonWilliams’s #KingdomOfHeaven. Much of the marketing for that film used white stone. Gladiator used a warmer color.

Eigentlich könnte ich hier wieder einen meiner schlechten Scherze über die Sensibilität der ARD Programmplanung und die Jahreszeiten machen. An dieser Stelle wären diese aber wohl deplatziert. Denn angesichts des missratenen Ausflugs der amerikanischen Vizepräsidentenfamilie ist der Film geradezu hochaktuell. Mr. Vance hatte einen Auftrag. Aber sicher kein Gespür für Grönland. (ARD)

Just finishing my first listen for #HarryGregsonWilliams’ score for #GladiatorII and I have to say, while the recording and performances are top notch, I feel deflated on the album. Excited to hear how it translates to the screen. So far, “The Dream Is Lost” is my favorite cue.
I was hoping for a strong thematic identity for this one, in addition to referencing Hans’ original themes, but that’s not what we got IMO. “Kingdom of Heaven” this is not.

여러번 들어본 음악인데 헤드폰으로 들으니 믹스의 새로운 요소가 귀에 들어오면서 새삼 처음 듣는거 같은 경험은 참 좋다. 지금 듣고 있는 이 곡이 딱 그렇다.

헤드폰으로 들으니까 퍼커션에 딜레이 효과 들어간게 튀는거랑 신디 패드 소리가 변하는게 더 귀에 잘 들어오면서 진짜 곡을 새로 듣는 느낌이다.
이런 곡 들으면 신디사이저 하나 질러서 작곡 같은거 해보고 싶어진다ㅋ
