Mastodon, I love you but you seriously need to fix the bug that prevents my home feed from loading because someone I follow went a little (a lot) boost happy.

I then have to enable boosts on the home feed to see who the serial booster is, then go and disable the boosts from their profile.

@angelsaura444 AND I #boost, but not all the time or folks may #hideboosts. I boost #introductions so the #hashtags of #interests can find their way to the eyes that wait for just those very things.
:) I think finding common interests and being sure to #curate for yourself are the best part here. But it takes #hashtags and #following LOTS of people over time so you find each other. I hope people seeking #SocialJustice continue to flood the #Fediverse and #DoGood :agooglehearts:

You can #HideBoosts of that very eager contact you now follow on #Mastodon who boosts unscrupulously by visiting their profile and clicking on their profile settings (three dots icon).

I cannot praise the #hideboosts feature enough! In fact, I think I might turn it on on everybody. Only read original content. Then the space by definition becomes less of an #echochamber.

Any idea why "#hideboosts from" is not working? My home is flooded by hyper-enthusiastic reboosters, #boosting stuff i already have in my feed, so it is just clutter. I logged out, cleared cache, the usual. No avail.

I have just realized how much I have been needing the #HideBoosts from XYZ user option. My timeline has been dominated by a tiny subset of the people I'm following, and so those people's boosts are being hidden now.

Love this feature, but I also think some folks should be reconsidering their boosting strategy. There is no algorithm throttling your boosts in your followers feeds, and if you overwhelm them, they may unfollow (or mute your boosts, if they know about that feature).
