My garage remote died a while back, so I rebuilt the opener using an ESP32, a relay module, and HomeSpan (an open-source HomeKit Accessory Protocol implementation).
No vendor cloud, no subscriptions, no locked-down “smart” hardware. Just a simple, local, secure garage controller that works perfectly with HomeKit.

We bought a house with a Honeywell monitored alarm system. I hate proprietary hardware. I wanted the installer pin but the service company would not give it for less than $200
So I opened the case, looked at all of the numbers on the motherboard, tried every 4 digit combination in those numbers, misread one of the numbers, then mistyped what I misread, and correctly guessed the 4 digit numeric Installer code. Then reset the homeowner pin and disabled the comms.
I am leet haxor.

This IKEA TRÅDFRI control outlet doesn't sound very happy. I had another do this flickering/chattering thing the other week. I wonder if it's a bad firmware update? I seem to have fixed it (for now) by cycling it a few times from the app with this circuit tester in it

It was a success! 49 from 51 devices migrated successfully from an old Hue Bridge to a new Pro one. Two remaining devices (tap dial and dimmer switch) were in fact also moved. I just needed to re-pair them, and all its settings were restored.
#HomeAssistant integration was not affected at all.

Has anyone seen a panel of physical buttons that can be used with Home Assistant?
I now have an array of individual zigbee buttons on my desk to control lamps, blinds, and alike in my home office.
What I am looking for is something like the Elgato Stream Deck but doesn't require a host computer to be turned on all the time. Wifi, Bluetooth, or Zigbee would be ok as long as it works with Home Assistant. I haven't gone down the Thread/Matter route yet but that would also be ok.
