A collage of four photographs showing doctoral researchers in various work settings. From left to right and from top to bottom, the four pictures show: Two young women, one sitting and one standing, in front of computer screens on a desk in an office, looking at the screens and pointing. A young man in a light mint green T-Shirt in a lab environment, standing with his back to the viewer, his body facing machinery but his head turned back over his right shoulder to face the viewer. A person in white clean room attire including gloves and a hair net bent over a lab bench with equipment sitting on it, their hand stretched out to the piece's end that's oriented towards the viewer. Bottom right, a control room with desks and monitors as well as a large screen on the wall, operated by two young researchers sitting at the desks and focusing on the monitors and screens.A seminar room with a group of roughly thirty young people sitting around a U-shaped conference table, looking up at the camera.People posing for a group photo at the entrance of a historical building. What an amazing conclusion of the IMPRS retreat today! The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science welcomed us for a brief but intense visit, and young solar system researchers got to discuss with researchers studying the history of solar eclipse excursions and other intriguing topics. Thank you for having us!

"If I had a time machine to go back to the past, what would I want to tell my PhD self?" Four IMPRS alumns treated us to valuable insights into their individual career paths and life choices after the PhD. Thank you Jean, Argyrios, Nina and Krzysztof for joining us at the retreat and sharing your personal experiences with us! The current doctoral researchers in the school much appreciated the opportunity to connect with you.

🌡️☁️ How do clouds influence global warming?
🌏 How does the sea surface temperature pattern influence climate sensitivity?
🌪️ How can km-scale models improve our understanding of clouds in the climate system?

We’re excited to share our work on these questions at this year’s #CFMIP (Cloud Feedback Model Intercomparison Project) conference in Exeter! Looking forward to engaging discussions& to gaining new perspectives on how clouds affect the climate system.
