That's where I disagree, CF means you are giving up privacy for some temporary safety feels.
What these people are doing is not private and not secure, they are cheating, they are essentially giving bigtech terrorists (antitrust is about fighting real crime after all) what they want, which has emboldened them these past years. These people who "swear by" bigtech solutions are sadly part of bigtech's terror offensive.
In this time of attempted machine-learning what these people are doing is helping criminal syndicates learn more about individuals to become better at defrauding and targeting them, a vicious cycle of attack that is proving effective. they are trading privacy and long-term safety for a sense of temporary safety. There is no such thing as "long-term temporary safety". Its oxymoronic. Any sensible browser would flag these sites as feeding bigtech machine learning algorithms. They all admit to using ML.
Good point about redundant protection ie. ISP+CF=overkill.
The people I respect are those building #IPFS integration, i2p-first design, proof-of-work systems, grassroots work at the individual level so people feel empowered to reject bigtech. These are the things we need. Making allowances for bigtech is proved to be a bad idea.
If folks want to obfuscate their IP then #i2p is existing open source technology to do that and its totally free. Its not even difficult to setup really. Pride is the only thing stopping these people, they want the pride of "owning" a domain name. Thats really it. Pride.
If they want to "own" something cool, they could mine a fun vanity address in I2P when I was mining I got all sorts of fun addresses.
