It’s weird how hard it is to get high positions like Staff Engineer at huge companies such as FAANG or even Bank of America. Besides having to be really good at your job and acing leetcode, you also have to go through tons of interview rounds, security checks, and all that stuff.

At the same time, it looks like to be the President of the United States, you just need to have a lot of money. Nobody checks if you have any criminal records, if you’re free of dementia, if you can string two words together or logically back up your decisions, or if you can think on your feet. And overall, if you actually love what you’re gonna spend so much time on.
