As a part of a learning exercise, I have been trying my hand at writing a parser for a local data format in Rust. It’s been interesting and enlightening. I do wish Rust had a more robust standard library (I don’t want to adjudicate third-party crates for batteries included functionality).

(I am familiar with the format like the back of my hand, and could recite an efficient implementation in Go using the standard library alone.)
@SnoopJ @brouhaha @trcwm Indentation is nice, as is not having to decide exactly what I'm doing before I start doing it.
Except Python never insists I explicitly decide what I'm doing, which is a problem.
Braces are also explicit, which makes them good.
(Database schemas are another annoying thing to have to explicitly decide, that, nevertheless, should still be explicitly decided. #OffTopic)
