I just stumbled across #LongCon (https://longcon.ttrpg.uk/), a #TTRPG #con dedicated to long-form games. Instead of a three or four-hour slot, #GMs can run a mini #campaign over the weekend.

Is anyone going to this or has been in the past? I'd love to hear your experiences. Too late for this year but I would be tempted for next year...

The elephant in the room for most use of LLMs is simply that the real changing force here is not in the absolute capabilities of the technology but in the price: these trade offs all make sense when using vast amounts of cloud resource is almost free. People say it'll get cheaper, yet everything points to orders of magnitude rises in investment to deliver decreasing margins of improvement. Gulp, I'm running The One Ring #ttrpg at #LongCon (longcon.ttrpg.uk ) later this year with @cybergoths . I've had this crazy notion that I might get lots of nice miniatures and paint them in time for the event. It's been ages since I've done anything like that and I'm not that good, but it'd really add to the game.

Had a great weekend at #LongCon playing a Young Kingdoms adventure arc using #Tripod #ttrpg. Love the format of an all weekend game, and will be putting on a date again for next year. Somehow it was relaxed and game focused at the same time. Student again for a while.

#Tripod played really well, supporting the power scales of sorcery, high impact contests, but over quickly. Really chuffed.

At #LongCon this weekend at The Garrison. Playing in a classic Stormbringer mini campaign all weekend with a great group run by @cybergoths. We're using Tripod Essence, tweaked for the Young Kingdoms.

#Longcon today, and probably went to bed too late last night (this morning). Tsunami of prep over the last few weeks for the game but it always feels rushed. Do you ever really feel fully prepared when you’re about to run a #ttrpg at a con? I suspect the answer for me is ‘no’ because I know I’ll have roll with the twists and turns the players bring.

Wouldn’t have it any other way though.

Converting the scenario for #Longcon from the #Stormbringer #ttrpg to #Tripod is simply a matter of highlighting key traits and assigning a number of dice. Demons and Elementals are reasonably easy to, as they have a template build.
