Well, here's my loom-knitting thing from last month. Hardly progressed this month but I'm sort of proud I haven't yet abandoned it. Especially because it's gonna be much shorter than I thought.

#ScribesAndMakers 13/05: Shameless self-promotion day.

You lot brought it to my attention that I seem to be the first loom-knitter you either learnt about or came accross. So here you go with an excerpt of a blanket I knitted some years ago (it's well worn and loved down by now) and my current anti-anxiety knitting right on the loom. It's supposed to become a scarf and since I only do it if my hands and painlevels allow I still have all summer to get it done.

I knit this special pair of Vampire Lestat socks for a friend who was going through a tough time.

I used the same VL stitch pattern I created for my own socks & hat last year, and this time did a contrast toe & heel to make it even more fun!

1. My fitness rings for the day are closed with flying colors! Move (calorie burn) 493%, Exercise: 450%, Stand: 125%. I managed a step count of 15,152! I’m quite pleased.
2. It was a gorgeous day and the windows were open all day long. Most are closed and we will close the last ones and turn the heat on before going to bed. It’ll only be in the 40s in the morning. Brrrr.
3. Read a little Braille today and worked on my loom knit hand towel while listening to a book.

Just realized I never put up a pic of the Nuka Cola scarf I finished months ago. It was loom knit using Red Heart Super Saver Pooling yarn in the color "Haute". The patches I got from a seller online. I just love it. Perfect color way, thickness, and length for me, this is why I like making my own stuff. ^_^

J'ai essayé le crochet, j'ai tenté le tricot "normal" mais vraiment, ça veut pas !
Par contre, depuis mes 8-10ans, j'ai passé des heures à faire des longs tricotins avec ma "bonne femme" tricotin que ma voisine du dessus m'avait donné !

Et l'autre jour, j'ai vu ce maxi lot de tricotins géants chez Emmaüs.
Naaaan je les prends pas ... Et ils ne me sont pas sortis de la tête alors j'y suis retournée et je les ai pris.

J'ai qq pelotes de "laine" (je suis allergique à la laine animale +/- fort selon l'animal en question, donc je me contenterai de coton, acrylique et cie) qui traînent donc dans mon bazar créatif.
Une ou deux vidéos sur YouTube et me voilà à tenter un bonnet !

Et même s'il a qq défauts (dont un du au changement de crochet en cours de tricotinage) il est chouette ! 😁

A moi les bonnets, les guêtres, les mitaines, les snoods et cie en tricotin !

This originally was going to be for someone. But I think it will be a bit much for them. Even with the grey to tone it down. So I will finish it and see. I'm honestly not a fan of it. But it might look better the more I work it.

1. The laundry is all caught up as of this afternoon. That will change tomorrow. 🤣
2. Did some loom knitting tonight. I finished a facecloth the other day and have grabbed the 40-peg loom for a hand towel. Unfortunately while feeling to guide the knitting tool into the groove, I jabbed it under a fingernail. Defo not a good thing. Ouch!
3. Talked to middle brother this evening and made plans for him, his wife and possibly two nephews to come up and spend the night before going to pick up my little sister when she is released from prison on April 1. 🤞🏻

I have MADE A SHEEP!!

It is basically a ball of shaggy scarf yarn with a face. But I did it from scratch, from my own non-design (i.e. draw-string cast on, keep knitting with the scarf yarn until I can't stand it, do the face, stuff it, the end.)
I am Quite Pleased.
It is for my grand-niece.

Knitted toy sheep, made mainly on a 24-peg knitting loom, and finished on 6mm double-pointed needles. Yarn: Ice Yarns Oh La La scarf yarn (grey shades) and Lincraft All Sorts Acrylic single-strand bulky (Grey). The eyes and mouth were embroidered with BWM Luxury 8-Ply Merino (Black). Stuffed with polyfill.

3. Am working very slowly on a loom knitting project. I’ve discovered if I do a few rows each night, it does not irritate my shoulder. Slow and steady wins the race!
