Knitting update: I finished the front and back. Now I have moved on to my first sleeve. Each sleeve has three colours and a different colour on the cuff. 🫣 Fingers crossed it all works out.

Hey, internet! I made an ugly yarn and I couldn't be happier!

It's been thirty something years since I last touched my spinning wheel and I am here to report it's not quite like riding a bike but it does come back slowly.

I thought I was over spinning the single but now I think maybe I was underspinning it? At any rate, the next goal is to get my drafting much more even.

Very uneven yarn still on the bobbin. Mostly penguin paperback orange but with highlights of purple, green and red. Think Cindy Lauper circa 1985 - who was gorgeous and not at all ugly but also not a yarn

A crochet beanie I made in shades of red, brown, and orange

Tantalisingly close to finishing a sock (my first ever!) on a round loom.. but I lost yarn chicken and have to wait untill I can buy more of the same.

It's a tube sock with ribbed cuff and as I used a loom, that somehow ~feels~ like cheating?* even though I am definitely a beginner and only just realised the pattern is apparently advanced 👀😑

I’m going to use this #yarn to #crochet a ripple blanket for the games room.

I got envious of my wife’s blanket that I’m making so wanted to make my own 😅

I did a quick test to see if I can follow the pattern, and after a couple of false starts I think we’re good.

Gonna park this now because I have to finish hers first (on penalty of death if I don’t) then I’ll go back to it in earnest.

Couple of rows of ripple crochet (think a wavy line) in blue red, green and yellow.

The piece is folded so it fits into the frame.

Just went out for my daily constitutional in the 13F/-11C weather. Possum wool definitely lives up to the “warmest natural fibre on Earth” rumor. I am sweaty everywhere that I had a possum wool layer on. (And half of me did NOT have a possum wool layer, so I have a point of comparison.) #possumwool #fiber #yarn
