A manuscript in 18th c hand held open by a velvet rope and propped up by black foam wedges; to the right the mess of scholarly things: a small notebook with pencil and a LOT of notes; a multi-colored printout in columns with more pencil notes; a clear plastic bag (per archive rules) with charger, mask, etc; a pencil sharpener; more reference materials hidden under the stack; and the clear plastic block of "place marker" from the ONB. The work table is wood and there's a low-lumine light with brass base. A pair of bifocals sitting on the table tells its own story of aging eyes...
