I hate the days when porn spammers hit the #fediverse. I know they only do it because it works. Which means, in a way, I hate that portion of #fedi which, probably unintentionally, rewards porn spammers.
But let me give a shoutout of #THANKS to all the #moderators and #sysadmin whose sweat and tears keep #ActivityPub the wonderful place it is.

@fediverse Congratulations, @monarkie. I'm so happy for not being the only moderator at The Social Music Network anymore. And I'm hoping to have a couple more people responding to our call, to have a bigger (less work) and more diverse (better work) team.
Is anyone else having difficulty posting videos here on Mastodon recently?
It hasn't mattered the size of the video, it just doesn't want to fully process them or allow them to be posted.
They process, it sits there forever, and I can never post them. It didn't used to do that... this has been the last week or so.

Also while I'm new to the collective, as someone who personally reached out to Rusty Bertrand (who is now not on our instance) she would tell me she was trans. As a trans person it is upsetting to think someone was lying to me about this.
Please give #moderators grace to learn from their mistakes and figure out how to moderate while also having to work full time jobs, have disabilities, and figure out how to do it while none of us live in the same country. <3 I am learning. we are learning. take care.
#Lemmy has become much like #Reddit, but also in all the worst ways.
#mods abusing power is nothing new, but people just swallowing up clear cut talking points made by a bunch of pseudo intellectuals, and then when an opinion with some neuance comes in, you get your comment deleted?
I realize why I left Reddit in the first place. I left before the exodus due to the new moderation rules and it was BECAUSE those communities and #moderators were generally toxic.
The same can be said for Lemmy.
