Today in odd coincidences: while researching the Molson beer family I discovered that Harry Markland Molson was on the wreck of the SS Scotsman in the Gulf of St. Lawrence in 1899 but managed to swim to shore.

This was the same shipwreck in which one of my great-great-grandmothers drowned along with her teenage daughter.

Eerily, Harry M. Molson ended up dying in the sinking of a different ship: he was on the Titanic when it went down in 1912.
