43 years ago today, February 12, 1983, B.J. Thomas debuted at #75 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart with “Whatever Happened to Old Fashioned Love”. It went on to peak at #1 and spent a total of 21 weeks on the chart.

I’ve collected many 45 RPM singles over the years. I liked hearing this one on the radio and went out and bought it at my favorite record store to add to my treasured music collection over 4 decades ago.

37 years ago today, February 11, 1989, Carly Simon debuted on Billboard’s AC chart at #44 with “Let the River Run”. It went on to peak at #11 for two weeks and spent a total of 15 weeks in the AC Top 50.

I’ve collected many 45 RPM singles and albums over the years. This is from my years of working in the radio broadcasting business. They would sometimes receive a few duplicates that I was able to keep.

37 years ago today, February 11, 1989, Highway 101 debuted at #63 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart with “Setting Me Up”. It went on to peak at #7 and spent a total of 18 weeks on the chart.

Many singles would get thrown away as they’d receive several duplicates at the station I used to work at.

I’d go through and pick out ones I wanted to keep and add to my treasured music collection.

I have a special place in my heart especially for Reba McEntire's early to mid-80s music.

I'm hoping to create another video that features, "My Kind of Country", her second album released on MCA Records and one of my favorites.

I've been working on this video of Reba's earlier music, from her first 6 studio albums on Mercury Records spanning from 1977-1983. Her first two singles were released in 1976.

I hope you'll check my video out. 🎵

Sylvia, sadly posted earlier today about the passing of one of her band members from the 1980s, Pete Finney. He played steel and acoustic guitars in her band for about 5 years.

She mentions Pete and some of her other band members in this video I recently created.

I thought I'd post it in honor of Sylvia and Pete making awesome music together all those years.
