@macbraughton @metin For now, I have my old laptop hosting my Gitea, which is connected to the VPS through a WireGuard VPN tunnel, because I can't expose services over the Internet from home since I'm behind a CG-NAT.

I used to use cloudflared, which was a Cloudflare tunnel to expose private resources. The problem is that I find it very invasive to use cloudflared as a reverse proxy and pass everything through the Cloudflare network.

@metin I moved from Github to a self-hosted Gitea instance that I self-host on OVH, a European cloud provider.

I also moved my .dev top-level domain from Google to EURid's .eu.

I'm very happy with these changes. I no longer have to put up with AI's obsession every time I did something on GitHub.

On top of that, I no longer use Cloudflare, and recently had to install Anubis (Web AI Firewall) to stop being attacked by AI Crawlers from openai and other Big Tech companies that were scanning all the commits on my Gitea (public repositories ofc).

Đáng chú ý, phía hỗ trợ OVH từ chối đổi IP và cho rằng việc IP bị chặn là "bình thường" do khan hiếm IPv4. Họ yêu cầu khách hàng phải mua server mới nếu muốn thử vận may với IP khác.

Ich benötige ca. alle zwei Wochen etwas mehr Rechenleistung als ich lokal zur Verfügung habe, um KI-Modelle u.A. zur Vorhersage des Wärmebedarfs verschiedener Gebäude und dem gezielten Einsatz erneuerbarer Energien zu trainieren. Habe den heutigen #DIDay zum Anlass genommen meine #Terraform Configs dafür von Azure auf #OVHCloud zu portieren. Noch ist die Umstellung nicht produktiv und ich möchte vorher noch alles ausführlich testen, aber der erste Schritt ist geschafft. 😅

Trialled a domain transfer from name cheap to #ovhcloud, and I cannot believe how fast it was - took me about an hour from initiation to completion. Kudos to #namecheap for making it fast.

And while #ovhcloud seem very efficient, its domain management interface is really odd and clearly not their priority. How do I edit custom nameservers? Will need to dig up some docs.

New #VPS pricing from #ovhcloud seems really good. Never used them, as currently using #hetzner . Any reason not to give them a try? what has your experience with them been like all?
