Oof. I've spent some considerable time these last few days decrypting, sorting, renaming and tagging the #books I've accrued on Kobo through Humble Bundle.
The #TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles comics were the most work; converting them to cbz archives and joining all the two-page spreads.
And I just now finished the near-complete #Discworld #novel collection by #TerryPratchett and #SeananMcGuire's very much incomplete #InCryptid and #OctoberDaye series.
So now I just have to actually read 'em.
@thomasbeagle are you familiar with #SeananMcGuire ’s #OctoberDaye series? They are Bujoldian (#LoisMcMasterBujold ) in construction and very well edited. I am blessed with being #ReadAloud to while cooking and we are 10 books deep and loving it.

I’m listening to the third #OctoberDaye book and enjoying it more, so far, than the first two. I really like the #WaywardChildren novels but have struggled with the way ‘crazy’ is discussed in the October books. It hurts my mad pride heart. (I don’t expect media to be perfect, and don’t think that’s a reasonable or possible goal, but I do try to engage critically, and I think it’s worth talking about the things that are sharp, or the dominant discourses that are unquestioningly replicated.)
Here's a thanks to writers everywhere, many who have seen me through tough times. Special thanks to @seananmcguire this week. I saved the latest #OctoberDaye book, Sleep No More, to read while my husband was having heart surgery and it helped keep my mind occupied while waiting. Though I'm not sure the other people in the waiting room appreciated my exclamations of "Oh, no!" while I was reading. #amreading #bookstodon #fantasy

September 9 is coming up fast! I'm almost done with my full re-read of the series and related short stories.
I ordered the signed physical copy from my local bookstore and their preorder comes with a pin from the talented @sevenishmagpies

@gwensnyder I am in book 14 of my #OctoberDaye re-read in preparation for the two back to back new books over the next couple months. Not even missing Twitter, just mourning what it used to be when it wasn't The Worst.
@Fragglemuppet Be The Serpent by Seanan McGuire. Do not start reading this faerie noir series there, it's novel sixteen (I don't have count on anything novella length or shorter), and it will have no impact except bafflement if you start there. Start reading #OctoberDaye with Rosemary and Rue.

Continuing my 2022 #books thread.
During the summer and early fall, I binge read the entire #OctoberDaye series by Seanan McGuire. It helped me through stressful times. In addition to chosen family, it also has main character who has a talent for chaos (in the best way) which was oddly comforting.
I then went on to binge read McGuire's #Incryptid series. Talk about found families! I liked the most recent books in the series the best because I identified more with the characters.
