Picked up a $7.50 beginner cross stitch kit.

Spent the first 20 minutes just learning how to thread the needle, only to realize the needle itself was busted.

Finally got about 50 stitches in, alongside some frayed thread and a whole stitch in the wrong place.

More stitches coming soon. Hopefully they form the right design!

Me, doing a project I'll call TUTORIAL COMPLETE. The goal is to try everything, but just once. Not to master it, not to monetize it (though covering the cost of the next attempt wouldn’t hurt), just to learn the basics and move on. The 13th season of our One & Done fantasy golf season is now underway. Over 200 participants, from 5 different countries, regularly compete from January to the end of the PGA season (Tour Championship). Twice I've won back my entry fee of $25, coupled with 10 years of generally shitty performance. Last year I finished 162nd. But #13 was my jersey number in hockey so maybe this is my year. I chose Cam Davis this week and hoping for a good start.

During our walk, we walked by a little toddler who was clearly having a meltdown in front of his mom (poor guy!). And I was just thinking to myself, I’m so happy we agreed to having one kid. I don’t think I could do this all over again. Yes, my kid has tantrums, like any other kid, but it’s more manageable w/ one. There’s something to be said for knowing your limits and putting peace and happiness above societal pressure. #oneanddone #oneanddoneparenting
