Still canʼt access @Mojeek on #OneNZ. The DNS has always been sus, and with Christmas maybe no one is keeping an eye on it.
A week or so ago, the little 3G symbol on my phone turned into HD. Iʼm guessing this is 4G? If so, it looks like the switch-over was a success. And none of the dire warnings designed to get us to buy new phones came to pass. #OneNZ
Those of you who were on OnlyKlans back in the day might remember this happening to me a few years ago, and it went on for years:

Did it stop? Yes. Like most #tech things, it stopped soon after I exposed that it was happening. Sad to know that is the case in Aotearoa, too: that tech does weird stuff till you place it in line with potential jeopardy. It makes you think there was some malicious hand in this, given the timing. #OneNZ #NZ #Aotearoa #technology #spyware

One NZ keeps changing its tune about the 3G shutdown
https://jackyan.com/blog/2025/12/one-nz-keeps-changing-its-tune-about-the-3g-shutdown/ #OneNZ #telephony #cellphones
For the first time ever, #OneNZ admits that my phone can handle 4G. After about a year of repeated SMSs and voice recordings saying that I was in danger of losing connection once 3G shuts down. Still scaremongering about 111 calls, which they know and we know is absolute shite.
I hope #OneNZ switches on 5G in this area before getting rid of 3G. There is evidence a signal exists, but little evidence of its continued availability. And I know my phone is capable.
#OneNZ (the telco, not the fascist group) keeps delaying my calls by telling me that the 3G network is shutting down, and texting me, and saying I should get a new phone. This is not going to happen. The simple solution is to stop connecting my 5G phone to their 3G network when I use it, especially as I have 5G priority switched on.
Itʼs going to be mayhem for emergencies till the shut-off month this December. Call 111 and get a recording that goes for half a minute …
#Vodafone #OneNZ is the worst. They stole my prepaid credit, 33$. The explanation is ‘technical issues’. You have to wait fifteen minutes after you change the plan before you use the credit. No refund. Instead of refunding me, they offered me a new plan. Wtf? Thanks but no thanks. Switching providers, pronto.
Vodafone/ONE NZ are you kidding me?
I cancelled all services a long time ago but I keep getting a monthly invoice:
* Last month's balance: $0.00
* This month's charges: $0.00
* Total due: $0.00 Includes $0.00 GST
🤦♂️

New Zealand’s 3G switch-off: you might be fine despite the warning messages

I'm considering changing mobile phone provider - mostly because One is tied up with Starlink. But 2degrees T&C appear to preclude business use, which makes it kind of useless to me, and Spark is the big original incumbent which I feel negative towards on principle. Any thoughts?
I'm a prepay user (also partly for cost, partly on principle - I hate lockin)
Got in, but that has never been my billing address. The address on the left is where I used to live. #OneNZ #VodafoneNZ
can any #onenz wireless broadband customers actually officially confirm? Some people say that you can only use the TP-Link Deco X80-5G shithole router and no other router will work. One of the techs told us it would work with other gear, though, and this TP-Link device is utter, utter, complete, trash. No VPN servers/clients, no ability to kill the DHCP server, nothing.
Also had a great experience with Anish in #OneNZ's offshore contact centre. Called after midnight to sort out access to the phone app and confirm roaming service before heading away at the weekend. He reset my account, stepped me through the process to set it up again and double-checked all was good before closing the call. 2/2
Shout out to Timmy at #OneNZ in Takapuna. Ported the uni-bound teen's number from another provider to a new monthly account. Next, looked into a query about our broadband, reinstated the accidentally cancelled discount and moved to us to a faster fibre plan. Finally, checked my long-cherished Vodafone mobile plan, showed me a newer One plan with more data for less money. All inside 20 minutes. Super nice guy, lovely approach and easy to deal with. 1/2
