Alright, little break, little torn ACL, made some cards, had a freakout, things feels heavy, things get better.
Where were we? We were talking history, of #OverPowerCCG specifically, and some things that filled the down time between the official end of the game and the now. There's a whole lot more I didn't get into, the connective tissue between past and present: the Atlanta Federation, the Horror Invitational, and a whole new era of card creation; the NAOPA, the schisms; the Palatinus Forum, Fenn Shysa and Justa; a lot of interesting stuff that I promise will be addressed (hopefully accompanied by views and perspectives from some of these named parties themselves), but right now is a very interesting time for the game, regardless of which side of which beef you find yourself on: the game now has an "official" continuation.
Over the past few weeks, the corporate entity known as Lazarus Rising Games has started trickling out packages to those who funded their kickstarter, with arrivals somewhat controversially favoring those attending a rather big tournament. I'll be honest with you, I cannot tell you where it was because I have largely severed all connection with that contingent of players, but, like it or not, there are 400 some odd new cards floating around out there with OverPower (legally) stamped onto the backside.
Before we get into what they're laying down, I guess it's worth careening a little closer to something I've repeatedly hinted at: schism. 1/
