I finished Pageboy!

I loved Page's often blunt word choice, and also enjoyed how he jumped through time (though I did get a bit lost at times). But this book was a hard one to read.

There just wasn't much light. Even the more positive relationships described tended to be wrapped up in bad times. So, while I admire Page and do recommend this book, I'd advise you to approach it with caution if you're queer and in a bumpy place.

I'm now reading Pageboy, by Elliot Page. It's interesting to read about his experiences of growing up in Nova Scotia, as I usually only hear about that area through the Scottish Gaelic community.

The last week of #PrideMonth wasn't a happy one for me. After some asshole ruined what we set up to celebrate. It was made worse when we learned it was within his rights to express himself, despite the campus having a hate speech rule.

Finally healing from that, someone I know (who I thought respected me) started misgendering & dead-naming #ElliotPage after seeing that I was reading his memoir, #Pageboy.

There are so many quote-worthy lines in #Pageboy, but this one especially resonates with me:

“A year and a half later and the pronouns are still just too much for some.”

Just got the #audiobook of #ElliotPage memoir #Pageboy from the library. Yesterday I was still 33rd in line for it so I don’t know why I got it so soon but can’t wait to read it!

Pageboy by Elliot Page is an extraordinary book. It is quite important that real-life queer stories are told, not only fictional ones.

#Pageboy, the biography of #ElliotPage, is a must-read. It needs a huge trigger warning sadly, but reading books about the trans experience is important and should be mandatory reading for everyone. I am grateful that he was able to put it all into this book.
