J'ai vite bricolé un bracelet de montre de remplacement pour ma pinetime, en attendant de recevoir le nouveau (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006348721977.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.4.78b91802Za937S , mon préféré après remplacement de la tige par l'originale que j'ai récupérée). D'habitude, j'aime pas le coton, ni le crochet car trop raide... ce qui est pas mal pour un bracelet de montre !

Oh, interesting. After two days and two nights powered down in the cradle, on the third day it is risen!

Strange.

Maybe whatever controls the charging can drain from the battery even when it's at zero until even that bit of battery is also at zero and then that forces the firmware controlling the charging to reset?

Anyway. It seems to be alive again and now starts charging when put in the cradle properly.

So I guess it's back!

So farewell then Pinetime Watch 🪦.

It isn't showing any signs of charging. even after a completely-flat battery reset. Last hope gone.

Now nobody at all is running my custom software I think, and I have no way to fix the bugs.

Could replace it, but I'm not really paying any attention to the things it measures anyway. Heartrate is too unreliable to be useful and steps seems likely to be counting my leg-jiggles since I tend to hit 10,000 most days without trying or leaving the flat.

The software which tracks my time and mood is probably better running on the phone really. Easier to add notes and detail. Can't really input text from a watch. Location data can be added in ways the watch couldn't.

So back to not wearing a watch at all I think. Who needs it now we all carry pocket watches with internet and telephony.

Hummm. My #pineTime has stopped charging 😦

Seems like there's voltage across the charger pins, but the watch shows no sign of being attached to it when it's attached.

Damn. That's annoying. Seems like it happens to some people now and then but nobody on Reddit has proposed a solution.

Anyone else being ghosted since 8 months by @pine64eu for a ⌚ #PineTime warranty case? I eventually received an email in October 2024 where they confirmed they'll send me a replacement. I regularly followed up via Mastodon and email, but have been ghosted since, no reaction whatsoever. 🙄

First things to notice about the #pinetime:

- It really takes time to get used to not having to charge the watch every day
- The terminal watchface is fun, but not that readable
- I miss a "twist wrist" wake up setting. The "raise wrist" really makes you do a weirdly large gesture with your whole arm
- I really don't miss my AppleWatch much so far
- I may need to shop for a different band, I don't really like the default band much

New #Kirby watchface release for the #Pinetime smartwatch. This has been a really fun hobby project so far.

Changelog:

• Stability has been slightly improved, albeit still unstable. Learning the dos and don'ts of making watchfaces for this thing slowly but surely lol
• Updated the design of the watchface to be a bit more optimized for the watch
• Added half-assed install instructions to the readme
• Added new screenshots to the readme
• Moved the heartrate counter 75px to the left to account for Kirby's face

Das OS ist von der Community. Per default InfiniTime (geschrieben in C++). Es gibt aber alternativen geschrieben in MicroPython, Rust, und ich glaube Go auch

Heute gelernt: man kann sich im Schlaf versehentlich die Firmware von der #PineTime löschen.
Ich hatte zum Glück noch die aktuelle Version von #InfiniTime auf den Handy liegen, so dass ich sie einfach direkt wieder draufladen konnte.

Ich habe hier eine #PineTime Smartwatch mit der aktuellen Version der #InfiniTime Firmware, die ich gerne gegen Abholung (Standort Landkreis NEA) oder Übernahme der Versandkosten abgeben möchte.

Für eine richtige Smartwatch kann die Uhr für mich einfach zu wenig, für eine "normale" Uhr ist sie nicht "schön" genug und sie hat ein paar für mich nervige Eigenheiten (siehe https://portal.mozz.us/gemini/gmn.clttr.info/en/pinetime.gmi)

Die Uhr funktioniert soweit tadellos, hat allerdings in der Zeit der Nutzung ein paar kleinere Schrammen am Gehäuse abbekommen. Der Akku hält mehrere Tage durch.
Die Ladeschale mit USB-A-Kabel ist natürlich dabei.

Bei Versand wegen der Kosten bevorzugt innerhalb Deutschland.
