I was still wondering why navigation wasn’t working for me (PineTime + Amazfish on #UBports). In the end, it turned out to be AppArmor in Pure Maps (there is now an unconfined version of the app in the store). Navigation must be enabled in the #Amazfish settings, and the resources (navigation images) must be uploaded to the #PineTime.

In my case, someone was kind enough to post alternate build of the watch's firmware (#PineTime) that had more readable notification displays, but I eventually gave it away to a friend, anyway.

Okay it took me more than I want to admit but it's done. Looks pretty nice, it has a slight Cyberpunk vibe to it. The watch is PineTime watch, using InfiniTime firmware.

The corner arrows change color depending on status, and there is very dim battery indicator that gets brighter when it's low. On notifications there's a green bell icon.

Still having massive problems with my #PineTime. It keeps freezing randomly, feels like charging it to 100% is a guarantee to blackscreen it. Weird graphical glitches, the green (bootloader?) pinecone often not finishing, just getting stuck, sometimes the pinecone starts mid-screen, gets stuck. Pressing the button until the doctor comes, pressing the screen, nothing helps. Randomly it comes back to life. Now, time is 1h off. Tried switching off bluetooth, other watchface, firmware 1.14, nothing.

Aaaand my #PineTime is alive again! 🥳 Apparently it was stuck in a 100% CPU loop, at least the battery was drained after a day, which normally lasts a month or so. The charger instantly brought it back to life.

@neil Yeah. I wonder what #FOSS, #OpenHardware smartwatches are an alternative. That #Pebble reboot looks fun. To be honest, I'd just need step counter and maybe heart rate, the #PineTime was enough. I had an #AmazfitBip watch before and I loved its reflective always-on screen. Software was terrible though.

My initial #PineTime died a year ago after a good year of all-day usage. @pine64eu ghosted my warranty case forever and now I just bought a new one. It is now (after one week!) stuck on the just-backlit black screen, no matter what I do. Pressing the button until the doctor comes does nothing (normally a 10s-press reboots the watch), charging neither.

I am kinda pissed and I think this will be my last PineTime.
