Perhaps the solar wind and CMEs push away the material that would normally form rings around inner planets. Also, many rings are composed of ice which would not exist nearer the Sun.
The Sun's gravity may also play a factor.

Scientists reported this week the discovery of the ring around #Quaoar, an object a little less than half the diameter of #Pluto orbiting beyond #Neptune.
