I knew RAM prices had gone up a lot, but I just did some comparison shopping this evening.
I bought RAM in October 2023. 32 GB (2 sticks of 16 GB) of DDR4 3200 for $66 (after tax and shipping). The same brand, same dealer, same two-stick set, pre-tax and pre-shipping is now $149.00.
My 2GB Gen4 NVMe SSD that I bought in November 2023 has also more than doubled in price.

RAM prices these days are pretty high. Last RAM I "purchased"* was a set of G.Skill 2x 16GB DDR5 6000 sticks (32GB total) which was priced at $149 back in Jan 2023.
I see that, today, the same set of RAM is currently priced at $349 on NewEgg. (This is the result of memory makers globally prioritizing specialized AI-industry-focused RAM over PC-level DDR memory.)
It was a recent Digital Foundry video warning / urging people that now is the time to buy a new GPU, given the RAM pricing crisis that got me thinking about this.
( * Those RAM sticks were free for me, thanks to buying certain upgrade items for my gaming PC physically in-store at Micro Center at the time. I'm sure they wouldn't be free today...)
