Family #doctors’ leaders have criticised ministers for giving #GP surgeries in England a “derisory” increase in their funding, despite surgeries seeing record numbers of patients.

The #RoyalCollegeOfGPs (#RCGP) has warned that the 1.9% rise in the #budget for general practice for 2024/25 will leave hard-pressed GPs struggling to provide the care that patients expect.

Back to #RCGP this weekend. Got the camera under control and it became much clearer what was happening and how to debug it.

Today I demonstrated I'm not an artist by modeling a traffic cone! #screenshotsaturday

I also spent a few hours re-learning #blender3d , and this month spent numerous hours on planning, design, and project admin, and who knows how much time I lost fixing a bug in #UE5 's build system.

I'm going to make progress on #RCGP if it kills me.

@wesstreeting - if this is accurate you really need to talk to #RCGP and #PrimaryCare #GP leaders about what partnerships and the current status brings to the NHS. If you don’t understand what will be lost you will make a bad situation far far worse. @UKLabour @rcgp

The new #RCGP Chair only started on Saturday but she has made a big splash on the Guardian today. All about moral distress but this final part is important - all political parties are doing this and focusing on access.

Of course, people are worried about seeing a GP - but it simply can't be done in many places with available resources. And it adds to abuse of GPs, to GP bashing, and it *will* make it worse.

Hawthorne also criticised ministers for “GP-bashing” and their recent pledge that patients would be able to see GP within two weeks, and on the day if it is urgent, which she said ignored the underlying issues. “Ministers must know that this policy is undeliverable. The number of GPs is falling and the number of patients we’re seeing is rising. Being a GP is becoming untenable, unworkable, undoable. It’s such a grind that people are retiring as quickly as they can.

“Insisting on this two-week rule, when they know access to GPs is a problem, will actually make the problem worse.”
