This weekend, Chaosium is celebrating 50 years. For 44 of them, they have been one of, if not the, favourite game producers. It started with Runequest and Glorantha, tabletop games like Nomads of Prax(?) and King Arthur Knights. Over the heyday years of the 80s and into the 90s, Call of Cthulhu was a given, Pendragon opened new ways to look at RPGs and I've enjoyed also the more obscure ones like Nephilim (not that easy to get into!), Ringworld and Elfquest.
The Basic Roleplaying system (BRP), through Magic World/Superworld/Future World, served as the basics for my own home cooked games, like The Veil, where you were one person when awake and as you slept and dreamt, you turned the character sheet over, for your Dream Self.

Thank you, the brilliant but late Greg Stafford and all the people that have been part of the community, for these years and for those to come. It has been quite the trip and many dice rolls.

Nun ja, noch ein halbgar unterstütztes Rollenspiel auf dem Rollenspielfriedhof in Waldems. Wo sind z. B. #GodsTeeth oder der Instantklassiker #ImpossibleLandscapes für #DeltaGreen etc. #Pendragon hat hierzulande damals nicht funktioniert, #RQ ebenfalls nie. Was soll da passieren? Glückauf.

#ChatGPT is OK at coding. But great as a learning tool for a new library or task. For example: I used it to help migrate a project from #Flask to #FastAPI and add background processing with #rq recently. It helped me select among multiple options and explained the differences.

The first code wasn't quite right but I could ask questions to figure out why and fix the issues. Enough to do on my own next time.
Much faster than reading docs or generic tutorials.

Discovered the Python #RQ, wanted to read something about it -- but I physically cannot. Beside code examples, its website is set in light gray on light gray, which is completely unreadable. #a11y

#rq how modern humans are different in terms of dopamine (levels, sensitivity) in comparison to our ancestors? I suspect we have much more dopamine triggered/more easily so we must be developing tolerance to it.
