I recently made the mistake of ticking the box to reserve a seat on a #train journey booked through a split ticket website for trains that don't offer seat reservations. As I had to change in London, I had to use paper tickets rather than an e-ticket. The ticket machine unhelpfully gave me 6 extra pieces of card, one for every unreserved seat.

I’ve just saved myself £106.60 by using split-ticketing to buy my rail tickets to Aviemore and back.

Takes a bit of effort (I reckon 20 minutes) but worth it I think!

The crazy, rip-off rail booking system in the UK is not about putting people first.
