“#Reeves probably needs reminding that she is [..] the chancellor of the UK, not #Israel. But follow the money – how can we take anything she says about Israel seriously when she is nearly £200k up because of a terrorist-state’s chequebook?

If you still thought that the Israeli far-right weren't steering UK politics:
The Trillion £ mistake (for the country, not speculative finance)
A mistake that Starmer and Reeves claim to recognise but have no interest in doing anything about it lest they invoke the wrath of Farage and Reform voters….

A question: Would the right wing UK press be making the same noise if the Chancellor was a man ? ( Or a Tory man ?)

Daisy Cooper (liberal) is against #Reeves Mansion Tax of over £2 million
Daisy has a residential property in London from which she receives registerable rental income, and a residential property (cottage) in Suffolk with family members.

Jeff Randall the former business editor of the BBC suggests #TrevorPhillips was right to question #Reeves about her honesty
He reminds us of her book 'women and economics" which he says has over 20 plagiarism and her CV claims that she was an economist at the Bank of Scotland when she was working in the customer complaints dept
."do we now believe her now"
Well said #Reeves to #TrevorPhillips explaining about a child born through non consensual sex when discussing the 2 child cap
Most decent minded people want this removed
#Badenoch doesn't
Are you choosing party before country? Phillips asks
I am choosing children, she replies
"We are going to raise £10 billion by cutting down on tax avoidance." #Reeves on #TrevorPhillips
HMRC estimates the UK lost £0.2 billion to tax avoidance for the 2023 to 2024 tax year, which is a small component of the total estimated £46.8 billion "tax gap" (the difference between tax owed and tax collected).
#Badenoch on ##BBCLauraK says #Reeves "came back for more money to pay for welfare"
It is only the Conservative Party who wishes to keep the 2 child cap
Piers Morgan maintains #Reeves is lying
He says, "They [The Labour Party generally and Reeves particularly] promised the would slash the welfare spending"
- I don't recall that being discussed
🤔
##BBCLauraK reminds us as to how #Badenoch mocked #Reeves with stupid impersonations of her, rather than outline the Conservative economic position
Reeves takes the opportunity to remind the viewers that Badenoch said Truss and Kwarteng's budget was described by her as being "100% right"
##BBCLauraK asks ##Reeves why she made the choice to lift the 2 child cap
Reeves replies ''because there are too many children growing up in poverty in one of the richest countries of the world"

The U.K. Government’s new budget: Climate and Energy announcements reported by CarbonBrief
They mention lower fuel taxes and charges, some small scale drilling, nuclear investment, and, oddly, new road charges only for EVs compensated by EV subsidies.
NB: The UK does lots of other climate and energy policy too, under their excellent Climate Law. But these might be just recent announcements.
