Als je onderdelen/uitbreidingen voor je (Nederlandse) #Remeha ketel/warmtepomp wilt kopen loont het de moeite om eens op Duitse websites rond te kijken. Zojuist een #Modbus uitbreidingskaart gekocht voor ongeveer 60% (inclusief verzenden) van de gangbare prijs op Nederlandse webshops.

I got a response from a more technical person from #Remeha with a good explanation on why they didn't want me to publish certain information, which I fully understand (even though the information was rather trivial to retrieve and, according to myself, would be fully covered by Auteurswet article 45m).

They didn't have an issue with my hobby project per se, which is good. I still feel they should have contacted me about this in a normal way, instead of opting for a C&D.

I've asked them if there might be a subset of information that they are okay with with being published, mostly information that is already, in some form or another, accessible online anyway.

I hacked up a #Remeha CAN bus sniffer on some flexible perfboard. It consists of an ESP32-C3 Super Mini, an SN65HVD230 CAN transceiver and a DD4012SA buck converter to power everything from the 24V provided by the Remeha service port.

Reading the #Remeha #CAN bus (Elga Ace All-in-One) using an #ESP32 with a SN65HVD230 CAN transceiver.

Since all ESP32s have a CAN controller on board, it only requires a tranceiver for the actual physical connection to the bus, so the required hardware is minimal.

Now all I have to do is decode the data...

Since my new #heatpump (#Remeha #Elga Ace All in One) has such poor energy reporting (updates about once an hour, how useful...), this will be my new energy reporter. A #Shelly EM with current clamp.

I'm not using its internal relay, but I just noticed the output limit: "max 2A". Geez, I couldn't even use it if I wanted to.

Seit Beginn der #Heizperiode im Oktober 2023 haben wir die #Wärmepumpe #remeha Elga Ace als Hybrid mit der vorhandenen Brennwert #Therme, die nach dem GEG / #Gebäudeenergiegesetz ab 1/1/24 für Neubauten vorgesehen sind, also 65 % Erneuerbare Energie. Kostet 15' €, die Onkels #Scholz & #Habeck geben ca. 5' € dazu, amortisiert sich nach etwa 4 bis 6 Jahren, dann wird nur noch gespart. Ganz unabhängig vom Vorteil des Klimaschutzes

Ist eine #Remeha #Tensio (Gasheizug vom gleichen Hersteller) und ich lese noch in der Anleitung. Heute war die Erstinbetriebnahme. Zumindest ist das Wasser und die Heizkörper warm, ohne dass die #Gastherme läuft.

Mangels #Homeassistant werde ich da wohl auch nichts einbinden.

Falls jemand zufällig einen 9 Jahre alten #Warmwasserspeicher sucht ... ich hätte einen mit 150 Liter Volumen von #Remeha zu verkaufen. Neue Anode im März 2022.
