The image depicts a large rock formation known as Toad Rock, located in the town of Rusthall near Tunbridge Wells in Kent, England. The photograph appears to be taken during late 19th or early 20th century based on its style and coloration. It shows two people sitting next to a metal fence that encircles the rock formation for protection.

The image captures the unique shape of Toad Rock, which resembles an animal's head with its ear extended upwards and mouth slightly open. The surrounding area is sandy with some sparse vegetation visible near the base of the rock structure.

This photo was likely taken during historical times when such natural landmarks were a point of interest for visitors or photographers. It provides insight into how people interacted with notable geological formations in their environments at that time.

In terms of visual details, Toad Rock stands out as the main subject due to its large size and distinctive shape among other smaller rocks in the background. The color scheme is dominated by earthy tones like browns and beiges which enhance the natural aspect of this landscape scene.

In Rusthall St Paul's Church is the memorial to Lord Ronald Sutherland Gower, his adopted son Frank Hird, and Franks wife Gladys.
I did a lot of research on Ronald and Frank, who lived at Penshurst and then in Tunbridge Wells. There is much to be read into the phrase "adopted son". I think I finally managed to write their tale onto wordpress, although the real truth they took to their 'graves' ( Ronald was cremated, a novelty at the time in England) #Rusthall

We then walked on to the village of Rusthall, which was the place we're people originally settled, has an older church etc. Lots of sandstone rocks and long views.
